We need to understand Armenian Genocide history today

The deeper I delve into researching the dynamics and history of the Armenian Genocide for my book and documentary projects, the more I see similarities to what is taking place in ethnic fighting throughout the Moslem world. The genocide of Christian minorities (Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, Coptics) committed at the end of the Ottoman Turkish rule offers a window into a world that is quite mysterious and incomprehensible for many westerners. To understand the present, we must examine the past. When we as a global society can acknowledge the past we will be free to move forward. But, as long as governments deny, obstruct the truth and perpetuate false histories, we are all doomed to remain trapped in a dangerous cycle of history that repeats itself.
